Too Much Energy!

Originally I had only planned on doing outings 3 days this week...today was not going to be one of them. However, Jake asked if we were going anywhere today. Ben and Joe wanted to go somewhere. Emma is ALWAYS ready for an outing. So Ryan came up with the idea for taking a walk and letting the boys ride thier bikes. I chose a different trail than he suggested and wasn't entirely sure that the boys' bikes would fit in the van. However, it all worked out!

The boys loved having a smooth surface to ride on (there are no sidewalks near our house). Jake drove his big wheel motorcycle all over the place until he "ran out of gas." In other words, he was tired. At first, Emma didn't know what to do. She was unsure about pedaling, but did not want to use her feet like Jake was. At one point, as you can see in the above pics, Jake came to help pull her. It was so sweet...Jake running to her saying, "I'm coming, Emma! What's the matter?" However, she finally got the hang of pedaling. The only problem was that she spent so much time looking at her feet that she didn't steer. Therefore, she drove into the grass a lot.

Afterwards, they were hot and tired. We came home for dinner and baths. We fixed our hair a little silly and posed for some pics! All in all, not a bad day!

Sharon Woods & The Big Cheese

The first week of summer break it rained or they predicted rain every day...of course, those predictions didn't always hold up. After 2 days of them predicting rain and it not happening (and me planning indoor activities as a result), I decided to take the kids to Sharon Woods.

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day...not too hot or too cold. The kids splashed in the small water areas they had to play in, played on the playground, and enjoyed an ice cream cone.

Afterwards we stopped at Jungle Jims to see them cut "The Big Cheese." Which I have to say, wasn't nearly as exciting as we hoped...we didn't even get to try any.

Yes, Emma is still wearing her bathing suit. She had a slight pottying accident (which we later found out was due to a UTI) once I changed her back into her regular clothes. So she was changed back into her bathing suit for our trip to the store.

Jake's Bedtime

Night Night Jake!

Another Blast From the Past

Here's another bunch of old pictures from Christmas. These are from Christmas Eve which was spent at Mimi/Nana's house.

Then we came home to read The night before Christmas and to put out Santa's special snack. On Santa's plate, Ben put a note that he wrote to him asking for a DS when he was 13. Ben had been begging me for a DS for well over a year. I started out telling him that he was not old enough for one...so he asked at what age he could get one. I told him 13. Hence, the note. It was so sweet and made me super glad that we got him a DSi from us to put under the tree!

Then sometime during the night Santa was busy doing all of this:

A Blast From the Past

I'll freely admit that I've been a BAD blogger this past year...No posts from September 2009-June 2010. I have a million and one excuses...I did take pictures during that time. I just didn't bother to do a posting on any of them! So here's some pics from last Christmas. These are of the Gingerbread House the boys and I made. The snow is white cotton candy, which works great until it melts! They were very proud of their creation and enjoyed eating the leftover decorations! Next year the twins will be old enough to participate!

Museum

This year instead of a zoo pass, we purchased a museum pass to Union Terminal. All of the kids had a fun time playing in the children's museum and Jake, of course, loved the trains. We've only been once, so far, but plan on going back again soon!

Emma even found a friend in Little Sprouts who she claimed was "her sister." When it was time to move on to another area, Emma told me that she had to get her sister first...too funny. Here's a pic of them playing together!

While we were there, we tried to get a picture of all of the kids to put in a picture frame for Father's Day. Let me tell you, trying to get them to all look at the camera and smile at the same time is not an easy task as you can see:

Mimi/Nana went along, but she did an expert job of avoiding the camera because I don't have any pics of her. Oh well, there is always next time!
